This section provides a comprehensive guide on how to create and send a new broadcast message using the m360 platform.
Creating a Broadcast
Compose and send a broadcast message to your selected recipients through your selected m360 Communication Channel.
- Broadcast Elements – The essential components for crafting your broadcast message, including the channel, recipient selection, message content, and scheduling options.
- Message Preview – View a preview of your broadcast message to ensure it appears and functions as intended before sending.
Channel Selection
Send your broadcast where your contacts are! Choose the communication channel through which you want to send your broadcast message.
- SMS – Select this option to send your broadcast message via SMS (Short Message Service).
- Viber – Select this option to send your broadcast message through the m360 Viber Business Messaging platform. You can maximize this channel by sending different types of messages such as images, videos, and messages with Click-to-action Buttons.
SMS Sender ID and Viber Service ID
Manage the sender and service IDs associated with your broadcast messages and integrate your branding into each broadcast.
- SMS Sender IDs – Select the desired sender ID that will be displayed to recipients of your SMS broadcast messages.
- Viber Service IDs – Select the appropriate Viber service ID for your Viber broadcast messages.
Recipients
Specify to whom you will be sending your broadcast to. You may select from your contact list, contact groups, and tags, or upload your own contact list.
- From Contact List – Choose from your existing contact list; you may select individually or select all contacts on your list.
- By Tags – Choose your recipients based on specific tags set for your contacts.
- Contact Groups – Choose a set of recipients based on the existing contact groups on your m360 account.
- Upload Recipients via CSV – You may also upload a CSV file containing a list of recipient phone numbers. Ensure the file follows the correct format for seamless import.
- NOTE: This format is different from the template on the Contacts module; since recipients uploaded on the broadcast module via CSV are not saved in your unified contacts list.
Message Type for Viber
Select the type of message you want to send. Maximize Viber’s capability of sending rich media messages such as images, videos, and documents. This section may only appear when Viber is selected as a channel.
- For Viber – Choose the specific message type for your Viber broadcast (e.g., document, text, image, video). Different message types offer varying levels of interactivity and content richness.
Message Body
Enter the text, media, or other content that will be included in your broadcast message. Use the available formatting tools to enhance your message and ensure it's clear and engaging. Adhere to character limits and any content restrictions for the selected channel(s).
- Unique Variables – Personalize your messages by inserting unique variables into your broadcast. Use variables such as your contacts’ first name, their mobile number and email address among others!
- Opt-out Footer – For all promotional and related SMS broadcasts in the Philippines, an opt-out footer is required by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). Your recipients can trigger the opt-out instruction by texting “OFF <Sender ID>” to 22565. Once the instruction is triggered, these recipients will be added to the Opted-Out List, and the system will automatically stop sending messages to these recipients from that specific Sender ID. Recipients can also use the keyword “STOP” interchangeably with “OFF” for the same result.
SMS Fallback
SMS Fallback is a feature that ensures your message gets delivered. With SMS Fallback, once your primary channel fails, the system can send an SMS message with the broadcast content, which you can edit specifically for SMS delivery.
- SMS Fallback Message – Once the feature is enabled, your original broadcast message will be used as the reference for your SMS Fallback message. You can still edit this message to maximize the SMS channel.
- Send SMS Fallback After – You decide when your SMS Fallback message will trigger. Set the time how long the system will wait before it sends out your SMS message. For the Viber channel, once the system detects that the mobile number is not available on Viber, it will immediately send out the SMS message.
- SMS Fallback Stats – View metrics on your SMS fallback with data such as the messages sent, bounced messages, and their message status. This data can help you understand the effectiveness of your fallback strategy.
Viber Carousel
The Viber Carousel message lets you send a swipeable set of 2 to 5 cards in a single broadcast—each with its own image, title, and call-to-action (CTA) button(s). It’s ideal for showcasing multiple products, offers, or content in a visually rich and interactive way.
To create a carousel message, each card must include:
- A title (2–38 UTF-8 characters)
- An image (PNG, JPEG, or JPG format)
- A Primary CTA button, with an optional Secondary CTA
- Buttons require text (10-character limit for Primary, 12 for Secondary)
- Each button must have a valid Action URL (max 500 characters)
Carousel messages are available to users with the Viber channel enabled and are counted as Promotional messages across Dashboards and Reports.
