What is a SENDER ID?
Sender ID is the identification of the message sender like the name of the company, store, or any establishment wanting to send a message to the targeted market.
How many characters in a Sender ID?
One of the restrictions with regards to the sender ids here in the Philippines is it should be pre-registered to avoid profanity or use of offensive words. Dynamic sender ids are the identification of the message sender like name of the company, store, or any establishment wanting to send message to targeted market. And this is allowed here in the Philippines as long as the message sender represents or is authorized by the company. Another rule is the character limits (min of 3, max of 11 alphanumeric, 15 numeric).
The allowed characters are period(.) , dash(-) , underscore(_) , space only
The rest of the special characters are no longer accepted.
What are the SenderID Guidelines?
- A maximum of eleven (11) alphanumeric characters is allowed per SID.
- Spaces are allowed. Each one (1) space is equivalent to one (1) character.
- Both uppercase and lowercase are allowed.
- The allowed special characters are period(.) , dash(-) , underscore(_) , space only.
- SIDs will be case-specific and subject to permutations.
- SID must be linked to the company name/brand/identity to identify the SMS sender easily.
- Use of common nouns as SIDs will not be allowed.
- SIDs must not be that of any other company or competitor.
- SIDs must not be derogatory.
- One (1) message part is 160 characters. Messages with more than 160 characters will be counted per 153 characters per message part.
